Work ended for me today. Well, not really. I’m still working at the same place, but it mostly ended because I’ll just be working on Saturdays. I’m really not ready to give it up yet–I picked the best summer job. Working at a grocery store was not my top pick, but I’ve really enjoyed myself.
Full time work is ending. Summer is ending. School is beginning. And I feel different right now–this summer I’ve learned a lot. I’ve learned that the best way not to be afraid of people is to totally forget that you are afraid. If you don’t remember your fears, they can’t haunt you.
I’ve also learned that when you like someone, most likely they will like you back. A lot of people worry about what others think about them, but the best way to conquer that is to think about the people around you and to see how they are so great. Once you start liking someone, you stop thinking about what they say behind your back, for the most part.
It’s been good. I’ve learned I really like working and getting to know people. I’ve learned people in general are pretty cool.
So, the summer and work is over.
